Charmaine Mtinta (born 20 July 1972) is a South African actress. She is best known for starring as Nomsa in season one of the SABC1 drama series Yizo Yizo. She won the Avanti Award for Best Actress in a Drama Series for the role.
On 23 August 2019, she started to play Lulama’s onscreen sister Nomfundo Langa on the e.tv soap opera Scandal!
Her character is a traditional aunt who is fearless and speaks her mind. She joined the cast shortly after the death of Nomhle Nkonyeni, who portrayed Lulama Langa.

Early Life
Charmaine Mtinta was born on 20 July 1972 in Gugulethu, a township in the Western Cape.
Education
Mtinta studied Music at East Side College and majored in Jazz. She later studied drama at Indigo View Actors Academy.
Career
Mtinta played her debut role, Nomsa, in season one of Yizo Yizo in 1999. Even after appearing in other soap operas like Generations and Isibaya, she is still known for the role.
The actress has spent decades in the film and television industry. She has matured as an actress from playing Nomsa and has continued to gain experience.
Charmaine played the starring role of the gold-digging widow of Lebo’s uncle Pearl in the SABC1 sitcom Gauteng Maboneng in 2011. She appeared as Aunt Lizzie in the Mzansi Magic telenovela Inkaba in 2012 and 2013.
In the soap opera Generations, she played the Bongi and appeared in the SABC1 soap opera Missing Link. She landed a recurring role in Zungazi in the 1Magic soap opera The River. She debuted on the show in season 4, episode 53, on 21 April.
Mtinta has acted on Isibaya, My Perfect Family, Tempy Pushas, Zibondiwe, Hope, and Igazi, among others.
Nomeva is her role in the e.tv drama soap opera Smokes and Mirrors. She had prayed for a theatre role for a while and appeared in the show Xova, which recently won five awards at the Naledi Theatre Awards.
Personal Life
Charmaine has two daughters. She enjoys a morning stretch doing yoga to keep fit, and loves her tea. Charmaine Mtinta is not a sangoma.
