Bernice West was born Bernice van der Westhuizen on 21 October 2000 in Rustenburg, a city at the foot of the Magaliesberg mountain range.
West grew up in Swartruggens, a small farming town in North West in South Africa, and her passion for singing and performing dates back to her childhood days.
The singer caught the attention of South Africans in 2019. She got invited to sing the SA National Anthem before the test match between the Springboks and Argentina.
