Rorisang Thandekiso (born 9 August 1989) is a South African actress, musician, and presenter. She is best known for being the lead vocalist for the musical band MuzArt. She is also a known face for presenting shows on YOTV.

The former Metro FM presenter joins Lesedi FM, where she makes magic in her mother tongue. She co-presented on the SABC 1 show Mzansi Insider in 2016. 

The weekend breakfast show explored the country’s Pop Culture from a youth perspective. She became a trending topic after revealing she is abstaining from sex.

Early Life

Rorisang Thandekiso was born on 9 August 1989 in Bloemfontein in the Free State. She grew up in the Vaal Triangle, south of Johannesburg, South Africa.

As a child, the TV personality wanted to be a hairdresser. Her interest in presenting likely dates back to her secondary school days. She was passionate about public speaking at that time.

Rorisang first time travelling outside the country was to represent South Africa at Global Young Leaders Summit at the age of 18.

Education

Rori matriculated at Riverside High School. She attended the University of Pretoria on a scholarship from PRASA. She studied International Relations.

Career

Some top business personalities had noticed Rorisang as a skillful person in the art of debate by 2008. She was the talk show host for a student campus show, Chakalaka.

Rori was among those selected to head the Sundowns Leadership Academy. Her matric year began with receiving the Young Communicator of The Year Award from Anglo-American and the Sowetan newspaper.

The television personality has appeared in other television productions. Rori has appeared in many television shows, including Mzansi Love on e.tv and the drama series Sticks and Stones on SABC1.

Rorisang was a guest host in an an episode of Mi Kasi Su Kasi. She has also made guest appearances on The Bantu Hour and #Karektas. She is a musician and a member of the group MuzArt.

The television personality is an ambassador for StaSofFro’s Switch It Up. She was named Seventeen Magazine’s Next Big Thing in 2008. She joined the kids’ television program YOTV.

Rori featured DJ Sumbody in an Amapiano song Lerato during the Lockdown. She took being the girl on television in her stride in her first year at the university.

Thandekiso was among the Golden Key group, consisting of students in the top 15% of the university’s respective faculties. She joined the TUKS FM charity movement as a facilitator. 

The actress became a Roads and Safety Ambassador. She was a spokesperson, did talks, created awareness, and handled bursaries and travels.

In late 2009, she was one of the most sought-after MCs for corporate gigs. She has presided over small community projects to government events.

Virginity

Rorisang Thandekiso made headlines for being a virgin. She says she had never drunk alcohol and never had sex. She decided to wait until marriage at the age of twelve.

At the age of fourteen, she decided on celibacy. Her mother’s teachings and her religion as a Christian influenced her decision. However, waiting for marriage is not her main goal.

Boyfriend

Rorisang was rumored to be dating awarding winning singer Musa. She and Musa dismissed the rumors and said they were not in a relationship but friends.

Siblings

Rori has an older sister, Bokang, who almost lost her life while fighting the coronavirus. She also has a brother Ntlafatso.

Injury

Thandekiso made headlines for having an agonizing knee injury. She had to get an emergency operation after an accident during netball practice. She tested positive for Covid-19 around Christmas time.

In 2013, she experienced hair loss, a side effect of the treatment for chronic illness. Rori has been dealing with it for years.
