Amy Kleinhans (born 12 July 1968) is a South African model, teacher, entrepreneur, philanthropist, businesswoman, and media personality. She was the first non-white winner of Miss South Africa in 1992. She is a housewife on the reality television show Die Real Housewives van die Wynlande.
After the victory, she participated in many business interests. She tries to provide a platform for learning and developing for South Africans.
Amy is the director of various companies, such as the homework hotline, Dial-A-Teacher. She founded it with the Nelson Mandela Fund in 2000.

Amy Kleinhans was born on 12 July 1968 in South Africa. Her father, Alfred, who died in 2002, was an educator. Her mother taught her several parenting lessons.
Career
Kleinhans is a housewife on the Afrikaans language reality television show Die Real Housewives van die Wynlande. She founded Dial-a-Teacher. It provides over 280 000 scholars with supplementary learning and tutoring.
Businesswoman Amy will soon launch her Cap Classique sparkling wine. She plans to launch a skincare range, Amelia.
Amy is an executive director of Private Label Promotion (PLP) (Pty). She has an affiliation with a subsidiary company of PLP Business Growth Solutions. It helps and supports SMMEs with long-term growth and sustainability.
In 1991, she made her first appearance in pageantry and finished second. She defeated eleven other contestants in Miss South Africa 1992. Amy made history as the first ever non-white woman to win the title.
As fate had it, the first runner-up was a non-white Augustine Masilela of Soweto. She made it to the Top 10 semifinalist at Miss Universe in 1995.
Amy crowned her successor Palesa Jacqui Mofokeng in the following year. She became the first black Miss South Africa and the second non-white to capture the crown.
In 2014, Kleinhans was a guest judge in the final of the Miss South Africa beauty pageant. The venue was at Sun City Superbowl, Rustenburg, South Africa.
On 12 December 1992, she represented South Africa at the Miss World pageant in Sun City, South Africa. She became Miss World Africa and the 4th runner-up to eventual winner Julia Kourotchkina of Russia.
Amy organizes a swimming festival for the school her children attend. She is a patron of ChildLine and the Sunshine Association for disabled children.

Amy Kleinhans is married to New Zealand businessman Leighton Curd. She met her sweetheart a week before the end of her reign as Miss SA. She has four children; Gugu, Phillipa, Thomas, and Georgia.
They have farms in Franschhoek, Swellendam, and the Cradle of Humankind. She is a committed mother and lives in Franschhoek.
